I was over fifty when I finally decided to write. I knew nothing about ‘creative writing’, but ignorance of a subject had never stopped me before. As a child, I questioned everything. In response to my enthusiasm my father would point at the set of encyclopaedias he had invested in, and say, “start there, if you can’t find the answer in those look somewhere else.”So, when I decided the time had come to write my novel I joined an adult course on creative writing at Hereford College.
The first homework given was to write a short piece, on any topic, to be read out in class at the next lesson. As each pupil read out their homework I listened in awe to the well-structured sentences of their perfectly punctuated, prose. I looked at my piece of paper, at the words that had tumbled out of my imagination and run un-disciplined through my fingers onto the page, it seemed they had all by-passed full stops, commas, capitals etc.in their haste to be set down. Oh dear!
However, my pieces always created laughter and entertained and at the end of the ten week session as the class clown my tutor advised me to start writing.
My books, will make you laugh, cry and with a dash of erotica might even seduce you a little.
